What are Emergency Exit Lights, and what do they do?

What is Emergency Exit Lighting?

An Emergency Exit Light is a light fitting with a backup battery that illuminates when the main power has been lost.​  These light fittings are required in all commercial properties and form part of the ESM assets required.

When do you need Emergency Exit Lights?  When you have commercial property.  

What do they do?  If there is a power outage for any reason, these lights will become illuminated thanks to a battery backup system either within the light or from a control panel that keeps the light illuminated for a minimum of 90 minutes.  This enables visible access to emergency exit doors in the event of.

There are many types of EE Light fittings - some not illuminated when power is on, some that are illuminated when power is on, and also some that are used as standard light fittings too. 

To be in compliance with the VBA and National Construction Codes, and the Aus/NZ standards, your ESM Assets require log book servicing every 6 months.  That's where we come in.

When you engage Your Service Solutions to service Emergency Exit Light fittings, we ensure the criteria for which the log book service requires is correct and your light fittings are compliant and in serviceable condition for illumination in the case of an emergency.
