Portable Fire Extinguishers

What are portable Fire Extinguishers, and what do they do?

What is a Portable Fire Extinguisher?

A Portable Fire Extinguisher is used to suppress and contain and extinguish a fire, by various means.  Not all extinguishers are the same.  Some douse the flames, some starve it of Oxygen, some smother it.  There can be different kinds of chemical agents inside, and some just have water.

Fire Extinguishers are most often the first line of defence against a fire outbreak.  This is just one of the reasons they should be serviced regularly to ensure they're in good working order.

To be in compliance with the VBA and National Construction Codes, and the Aus/NZ standards, your ESM Assets require log book servicing every 6 months.  That's where we come in.

When it comes to Portable Fire Extinguishers, they are required to be serviced every 6 months (with different service requirements for 6 and 12 month services).  Every 5 years, they either need to be hydrostatically tested or replaced.

When you engage Your Service Solutions to service your Fire Extinguishers, we ensure the criteria for which the log book service requires is correct and your extinguishers are compliant and in serviceable condition for deployment in the case of an emergency.  We can also train you and your staff in how to correctly use your Fire Extinguishers on site.

We can set you up on your 6 monthly schedule to ensure your compliance.  Contact us for your Portable Fire Extinguisher servicing and usage training needs.
